FOR YOUR INFORMATION
The sewer line (or lines) to the tank is the 4" service line that carries waste from the house. Many of these have cleanouts in the yard. Those
that do not will have to be serviced by accessing the pipe as close to the stoppage as possible. A clogged sewer can cause any waste drain to
back up into that fixture. Slow drainage will evidence itself on lower levels first. If the problem is not handled promptly, other drains my have
to also be cleaned individually.
The 2" and 3" lines that service each plumbing fixture in your home or business can become clogged without affecting any other drain. These are sinks, lavatories, tub and shower, or commodes. Foreign objects are often dropped in commodes. Usually these can be retrieved with an auger. If not, the commode will have to be pulled from the floor, the service line cleaned, and the commode reseated. Kitchen sinks and washer drains are usually on the same line, and a problem one, especially the washer drain will affect the other. Washers without lint traps will clog washer drains. Heavy grease and fibrous matter will clog disposals and sinks. Septic systems are to be pumped on the average of 5-7 years for a family of four, unless you have ground water problems. If there is a backup caused by this, many times the slow drains caused by this will go away as the water table lowers itself. Use Roto-Rooter drain cleaner products, root destroyer, and septic tank treatment on a regular basis to keep your drainage system free of problems. Roto-Rooter plumbers can handle any of your plumbing or sewer drain problems! |
